Use as directed by your healthcare provider. Apply the prescribed amount to the affected scalp area once daily unless told otherwise. Wash hands after use. If you miss a dose, apply it when you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double up on doses. Your healthcare provider will decide how long you should continue treatment.
Minoxidil widens tiny blood vessels around hair follicles, bringing more oxygen and nutrients. Dutasteride and finasteride block the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, lowering scalp levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that shrinks follicles. Ketoconazole fights yeast on the scalp and eases inflammation that can damage follicles. Tretinoin gently peels the outer skin layer, improving drug penetration. Most people notice increased hair shedding in the first 2–6 weeks (a sign older hairs are making room for new growth). Visible thickening usually begins after 3–6 months, with full benefit in 12 months. Effects last only while the medication is used.
Do not use if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding (may harm an unborn or nursing baby). Do not use if you are allergic to minoxidil, dutasteride, finasteride, tretinoin, ketoconazole, or any ingredients in this solution. Avoid use in children under 18. Do not apply to broken, sunburned, or infected scalp skin. People with severe liver disease or a history of hormone-related cancers (such as prostate or breast cancer) should not use this product unless specifically cleared by their specialist.
Tell your healthcare provider about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products you use. Using oral finasteride, dutasteride, or minoxidil at the same time may raise the chance of side effects. Strong scalp corticosteroids can increase absorption and irritation risk. Alcohol-based styling products may dry the scalp further. Limit other medicated shampoos (like selenium sulfide) to prevent excess irritation. Drinking large amounts of alcohol can widen blood vessels and increase dizziness while the solution is drying.
Very common (more than 1 in 10): mild scalp itching, dryness, or flaking; temporary increase in hair shedding during the first weeks. Common (1–10 in 100): redness, burning sensation, oily scalp, dandruff, acne at hairline. Uncommon (1–10 in 1,000): headache, dizziness, unwanted facial hair growth in women, mild swelling of hands or feet. Rare but serious: allergic reaction (rash, swelling of lips or eyes, trouble breathing), chest pain, fast heartbeat, severe scalp inflammation. Sexual side effects such as reduced libido or erection problems are rare with topical use but can occur. Most local side effects improve after a few weeks; stop use and seek medical help if serious reactions develop.
Store at room temperature (68-77 °F, 20-25 °C). Keep container tightly closed to reduce evaporation. Protect from heat, open flame, and direct sunlight; the alcohol base is flammable. Do not freeze. Keep out of bathrooms where humidity is high. Use within 6 months after first opening. Dispose of unused or expired solution through a pharmacy take-back program or mix with used coffee grounds in a sealed bag before placing in household trash.
